The Trees, Shrubs and Perennials I Recommend

We live in an area with generally poor soil, wind, and exposed conditions. These are not optimum growing conditions for most plants. Does that mean we are left with sagebrush and switch grass? No! There are many beautiful plants that thrive here—lush, strong plants that adapt readily to our conditions.

The key is knowing which ones they are. I have created a binder of plant profiles (complete with color pictures) that showcase the trees, shrubs, ornamental grasses, and perennials that thrive here. They come in a variety of heights, colors, and textures. I bring this binder with me to each consultation. Most of these plants blend together beautifully and create living works of art that will grace the outside of your home for many years to come. Many of the shrubs and perennial flowers also boast long bloom periods and make excellent cut flowers. All require modest to little care.
