My Yard in Bloom

One of my favorite groundcover perennials is Candytuft--
a reliable early bloomer (white). It is flanked by another favorite
 (soapwort), pink, on right.
Mid-May seems to be when my landscaping comes to life. Trees are in bloom, early perennials are at their best, and the grass is like a velvety green blanket hugging my house.

Yes, I am rather sentimental this time of year-after surviving a long Utah winter, who isn't hungry for flowers and growing things?

Enjoy the tour and happy planting everyone!

Most people plant rhubarb to harvest its stalks,
but I find it makes a beautiful landscape plant
as well.
One of my favoite flowering trees: "Paul's Scarlet"
Hawthorn tree. It is a reliable performer in our area.
