My favorite season has just begun, and I relish the warmer weather and longer days. Longer days mean more time out in the yard : - ). Right now I am working on pruning fruit trees, dividing perennials, and cleaning up yard debris. It is also a good time to trim back roses and begin fertilizing plants that are leafing out.
If you have moved into a newly built house and have no landscaping, now is a great time to have your design work done (see my SERVICES page for more info). Grading, retention walls, and sprinklers can also be done.
A tip for new homeowners--keep weeds under control right from the start. Weeds are just now beginning to grow. Round-Up (or a generic substitution) and broad-leaf weed killers work great. Or, you can always pull them. A little work up front will prevent much heartache in July.
