Tough plants secure and beautify tricky backyard slope

This client wanted to keep retaining walls to a minimum and turn a hillside of road base into an asset. By carefully selecting tough plants and trees that would grow in rocky conditions, I turned a hard-to-plant area into a beautifully landscaped bed that mimics a native mountainside. The front yard also reflects some of these plantings. Note: the middle of the backyard is still under construction, the clients will be adding a playground and garden area.
